Letters to the editor
We welcome letters from readers about local issues in Maplewood, North St. Paul, Oakdale and ISD 622. Letters appear in our Opinion section.
How to send a letter
Email your letter to editor@example.com with "Letter" in the subject line. Include:
- Your full name and the city you live in. We publish both.
- A phone number, so we can confirm you wrote it. We don't publish it.
Guidelines
- Keep it to 300 words or fewer.
- Write about a local issue or something we've covered.
- One letter per person every 30 days.
- No personal attacks, unsupported accusations or letters written by someone else on your behalf.
- We may edit letters for length, clarity and accuracy. We don't change your point.
- Letters are written by people, not AI. Please don't submit AI-generated letters.
Elections
We publish letters about candidates and ballot questions until one week before Election Day. That leaves time for responses. Candidates may not write letters about their own races. They can buy a labeled ad instead.
What we don't publish
We don't publish anonymous letters, form letters or letters that also go to other publications at the same time.
