East Metro News is the daily local news source for Maplewood, North St. Paul and Oakdale, cities with about 83,000 residents (2020 Census). Inver Grove Heights, with about 36,000 more, joins in early 2027.

Our readers are the people who follow city council votes, school board decisions, road work and new businesses: homeowners, parents and longtime residents. Our free Morning Brief email reaches them at 6 a.m. every day.

We will publish our monthly readers and newsletter subscribers on this page after our first 90 days.
